Akola takes its inspiration from Indian hand block prints. Each design translates the patterns and colours of the printing technique into a knotted motif, with the handmade character of the printing process carried through into the finished piece.
The collection is Persian knotted by hand in wool or a wool and silk blend. Every design is cut pile, with some finished in raised silk for added depth. Borders are optional, designed to be mixed and matched with the collection's patterns so each design can be built around the room it's going into. Every piece can be custom coloured, made to any size, and created as a carpet, rug or stair runner.
